Principal's Report
Dear Community,
The school draws to an end and how 2024 has flown.
The Colour Run was held on Friday and what a celebration it was. An opportunity for students, staff and parents to laugh, be silly and have fun to enjoy all that we have achieved this year. It was wonderful to see all the smiles and the pure joy on the student's faces as they were doused in colour.
The staff and students should be very proud of the opportunities, success and achievements realised this year. St Joseph's continues to build upon its wonderful reputation as a great place to learn and grow.
I wish you all the joys and blessings that Christmas brings. It is a special time as family and friends get together. Hopefully, our students will be focussing on the quality of the giving not the quality of the gift, as we remember those who are less fortunate and will not have family or friends to share the Christmas spirit with. The students have already made a start on this approach with their generous donations towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal food hampers that will be delivered to Vinnies later this week.
I hope your travels over the holidays will be safe. Thank you for your support of St Joseph's this year.
Best wishes, Happy Christmas and may you have a happy, healthy and successful New Year. I look forward to seeing you all again in 2025.
God Bless,
Michelle

PPF Recap
Dear Families
2024 has been a memorable year, and the awards night was a wonderful way to celebrate! The Christmas performance was heartwarming, and seeing the children enjoy themselves is always special. We are extremely lucky to have a supportive community to make the event a success.
Our amazing team has worked tirelessly throughout the year to raise much needed funds for our students and school. A special shoutout to our executive team for their incredible dedication and countless hours of hard work. These people often sacrifice their own time to enhance our school’s resources and organize fundraisers that support learning and other opportunities for our kids. The executive team are:
Kelsee Huth- President
Scott Folker- Vice President
Billie-Dee Sinclair- Secretary
Catherine Folker- Treasurer
Taylah Willett- Events Coordinator and tuckshop Convener
Matt Clark- Grants.
This Year, we went full steam ahead with fundraising events, including the Millmerran show canteen , Mother’s Day raffles, Thermomix/Mother’s Day evening, The Athletics Carnival, the Camp Oven festival and The BBQ smoker, Father’s Day evening, Melbourne Cup Luncheon and the Cent Sale which was our biggest fundraiser of the year. None of these events would have been possible without our amazing team and the handful of volunteers who generously gave their time and effort. A huge thank you to you all!
I’m incredibly proud to announce that this year we raised just over $30,000! From that, we’ve spent $11,000 on items such as:
- A Fridge for year ½ classroom
- The year 5/6 camp bus
- Standing book order
- Decodable readers
- Santa books
- Water chiller for the bubblers
- Covering half the cost for senior shirts
- Meals for all students at Awards night.
A special thanks to all our tuckshop volunteers who give up their time to help. The kids absolutely love it, and it’s incredibly rewarding to hear them talk about how great tuckshop is. It’s been a massive success, and we’re excited to continue next year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of Year 6 students for completing six years of primary school. As you prepare to embark on the exciting journey of high school, we wish you all the best for the future. May you continue to learn and grow and succeed in all you do.
This year, we sadly say goodbye to two of our teachers, Grace Twidale and Chris Riley. You both will be deeply missed, not only by the children but also the entire St Joseph’s community. We wish you both the very best in your new adventures next year.
Thank you again for a wonderful year and we look forward to seeing what next year brings for our children and school.
From the PPF we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😉
